Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and versatile home-schooling educator to provide guidance and instruction to our child through a tailored and innovative educational approach. This role emphasizes mentorship and tutoring, adhering to a structured curriculum while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a global perspective.

Work Environment: California (with opportunities for international travel)

Required Experience:

  • Experience with children displaying behaviors such as ADHD is essential.
  • Background in non-traditional or adaptable educational settings is advantageous.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mentor, navigating through a defined curriculum and offering supplementary tutoring as necessary, concentrating on strengths and addressing challenges.
  • Inspire the child to develop into a well-rounded global citizen, particularly through the acquisition of multiple languages, including Italian, Spanish, English, and French.
  • Encourage and cultivate natural interests and skills in STEM fields, especially in engineering, robotics, and aeronautics.
  • Facilitate piano practice in collaboration with the piano instructor.
  • Establish firm yet compassionate boundaries to maintain focus, emotional regulation, and engagement in the learning process.
  • Continuously evaluate progress and modify teaching methods to ensure academic achievement and personal development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related discipline; teaching credentials are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students, particularly those with ADHD or similar behaviors.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally for extended durations.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly Italian, Spanish, French, and English.
  • Capability to foster a nurturing, positive, and stimulating educational atmosphere.
  • Exhibit patience, creativity, and a balanced approach to managing behavior and learning.
