Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain high-quality radiographs of patients. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient requests for procedures and determine the necessary diagnostic images to be obtained.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate diagnostic imaging equipment, including X-ray machines and other devices, to obtain high-quality images.
  • Assist radiologists in performing routine radiographs and adjust equipment as needed to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Monitor patient conditions before and during procedures, recognizing any changes that may require emergency action.
  • Document procedure verification and procedural details using a computerized system.
  • Collect and forward completed diagnostic images to the appropriate location for interpretation and results reporting.
  • Practice sterile, isolation, and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and maintain infection control procedures.
  • Monitor quality control on a daily basis and report any equipment problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and registration as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Maintenance of Continuing Education credits (24 CEU in two-year period) and other requirements to maintain ARRT certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of anatomy and understanding of the principles of physics, electricity, and variations of anatomical positions.
  • Ability to set up and operate equipment, with an emphasis on reducing patient radiation dose (ALARA).
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills to deal effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
