The IT Business Analyst is a key individual contributor responsible for supporting information system implementations and providing product support for Academic Affairs at Vanderbilt University.
This role reports directly to an Associate Director in the Process and Solution Implementations (PSI) team and requires learning about the dozens of systems in use across Academic Affairs, acquiring deep expertise in an assigned portfolio of systems, and building relationships with stakeholders in business areas across the University.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as a member of matrix teams comprised of Academic Affairs leadership and staff to execute projects according to established timelines and priorities.
- Participates in meetings with stakeholders to understand and document their technology needs.
- Collaborates with other team members to transform the needs of stakeholders into requirements that can either be configured in vendored systems or developed by VUIT.
- Works alongside PSI and Academic Affairs colleagues to test newly developed or configured information systems.
- Supports PSI's customers in their use of these systems and works to diagnose issues.
- Documents processes and systems and provides effective production support.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary.
- At least one year of recent higher education experience is preferred.
- Project management experience is preferred.
- An interest in technology and learning new processes and systems is preferred.
- Ability to work with others in a team setting is necessary.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary.
- Analytical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail are necessary.
