We are seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to join our team in Chamberlain, SD. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of grains at our facility.

Job DescriptionThis role involves working with customers in a courteous and professional manner, preparing trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, and operating heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment. You will also be responsible for monitoring all load-out functions, understanding and operating automated scale/dump systems, and conducting daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations
- Work with customers to ensure excellent customer service
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, including sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses
- Loading and unloading agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment
- Control and monitor all load-out functions
- Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems
- Conduct and properly record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms
- Monitor and maintain quality of inventory, including blended, bulk, or packaged product
- Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and others to customer sites
- Minimum age requirement
- 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
