Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Swim Instructor to teach American Red Cross swim classes and develop lesson plans for students of various ages and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Teach swim classes and develop lesson plans for students of various ages and abilities
  • Implement safety protocols and respond to emergencies using first aid and CPR
  • Supervise lifeguards and swim assistants, and operate handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment as needed
  • Teach other non-ARC swim classes or supervise non-instructional swim programs as assigned
Qualifications
  • Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, and Water Safety Instructor
  • Ability to work effectively with swimmers of various ages and abilities
  • Ability to handle handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment
  • Experience as swim instructor preferred but not required
Working Conditions

$18 - $20/hour; Hours vary

Candidates hired for this position will be employed through the educational staffing partner of the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, and will be required to complete a separate Edustaff application and orientation once an employment offer is received.
