Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant Trainee is an entry-level position that provides an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a certified nursing assistant. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the trainee will work with clients and their families to ensure their physical, cognitive, spiritual, emotional, and social needs are met.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, and obtaining vital signs.
- Provide psychosocial support and deliver other personal care as assigned.
- Assist with basic health care needs, such as transferring, repositioning, range of motion exercises, and walking using appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Assist clients with meals and snacks and provide water and nutritional supplements as appropriate.
- Assist with housekeeping, laundry services, and other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
