Description
At CrossWinds Counseling & Wellness, we are seeking a skilled Outpatient Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide high-quality treatment services to clients in Coffey County, utilizing a strength-based approach to support their adaptation to life situations, learning of independent living skills, participation in educational resources, and prevention of hospitalizations.
Essential Functions
- Provide direct family therapy, individual therapy, and group therapy services to children and adult clients, assisting them in achieving individualized treatment, recovery, and personal growth goals.
- Build trusting and professional relationships with clients by participating with them and vested individuals in a dependable and purposeful manner on a routine basis, serving as an effective advocate for clients by coordinating with community agencies and within the organization to ensure delivery of necessary services.
- Meet or exceed the billable hour standard of client contact hours set for the position.
- Conduct clinical intake assessments at the time of clients' intake to the department and complete discharge procedures for clients who have terminated treatment services.
- Provide services related to court evaluations and testimony on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with other community service providers to achieve successful relationships and partnerships, assisting clients to identify, secure, and maintain community resources.
- Provide and coordinate necessary referrals and delivery of services among schools, community agencies, hospitals, and within the organization to ensure that clients are receiving necessary services.
- Work in partnership with clients and other vested individuals to design and implement a comprehensive and individualized plan of care based on a strengths assessment.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all client services, as defined by state licensing agencies, funding agencies, and Center standards and requirements.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship and professional demeanor with clients and families, external community partners, Center staff members, and visitors.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This position also requires the ability to interpret written materials, write reports and business correspondence, and effectively present and respond to questions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
The employee will be required to work one of the following schedules:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm, Saturday, 8:00am - 12:00 pm (televideo)
Travel
Travel is primarily local, with some travel to satellite offices in the seven-county catchment area.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work, counseling, or psychology.
Preferred Education and Experience
Doctorate Degree in clinical psychology or related field; a minimum of one-year work experience in the human services field.
Licensure/Certification
Licensure as a master or doctorate level clinician with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. LSCSW or LP licensure is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Ability to work independently and as a member of a therapeutic team; ability to work with persons with severe emotional disturbance and/or severe and persistent mental illness; possess demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to react effectively in a variety of human service situations; possess prior computer experience in Microsoft Office programs and basic computer fluency.
