Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to join our PharmScript team. As the interim Pharmacist in Charge, you will be responsible for overseeing the practice of pharmacy at our pharmacy location. This is a key leadership role that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with our team to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report potential violations of statutes, rules, or court orders within the pharmacy.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry, regulatory, and compliance developments, and work with our compliance team to address any changes.
  • Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues, including regulatory changes, FDA drug recalls, and drug information.
  • Work with our regional pharmacy manager to integrate quality assurance programs and improve patient care.
  • Supervise training programs for pharmacy technicians and maintain records of their training.
  • Ensure that all pharmacists and interns are licensed and that all pharmacy technicians are registered with the board.
  • Make or file reports required by state or federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Work with our regional manager to respond to warning notices from the board.
  • Implement policies and procedures for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.
  • Perform various duties associated with narcotic room compliance, including reporting and responding to regulatory inquiries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Proficient in clinical interpretation, including drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies.
  • At least two years of related pharmacy management experience recommended.
  • Knowledge of American Society of Consultant Pharmacist guidelines, state and federal regulations, and drug indicators for long-term care centers is recommended.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with our regional manager to plan, develop, and coordinate pharmacy activities.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex topics.
