Bakery Apprentice

Job Summary

We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic Bakery Apprentice to join our team at Giant Eagle Inc. As a key player in our bakery department, you'll be responsible for creating beautiful and delicious pastries that delight our guests. In addition to providing exceptional customer service, you'll assist in decorating cakes, preparing products for display, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn and master product knowledge, including product information, special orders, and cake decorating techniques.
• Follow proper procedures to ensure high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and create an engaging shopping experience.
• Maintain safety as the top priority in all aspects of our work, for our Team Members, guests, and products.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Prepare and decorate products for display, rotating stock and ensuring code dating procedures are followed.
• Accurately record special orders and maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, and work areas.
• Assist in maintaining bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency by unloading deliveries and maintaining department procedures.
