Forklift Mechanic Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team at National Guard Employment Network. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting repairs to forklifts, performing preventative maintenance, and completing project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs to forklifts, including diesel, electric, and propane-powered models
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance per established PM program
  • Diagnose hydraulic circuits, fuel, and cooling systems
  • Fabricate and repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, GMP and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in maintenance and repair of related manufacturing and material handling equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and fork lift

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work overtime and on-call rotations, and may require working varying start times and weekends dependent on business needs. Protective gear such as ear plugs, steel toe shoes, and safety glasses will be required where appropriate.
