Job Title: Principal Engineer - Global Digital Commerce

Costco Wholesale is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to lead the development of our Global Digital Commerce Platform. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and resilient cloud solutions to support our e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of our Global Digital Commerce Platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our business and customers.
  • Design and implement scalable and resilient cloud solutions, leveraging technologies such as Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with our existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that our platform is well-documented and easily maintainable.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on scalability and resilience.
  • 8+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, such as Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with containerization, serverless computing, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong understanding of networking architecture principles and security.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive innovation and implement industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain management.
  • Proven expertise in working with Google Cloud Platform technologies, such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Apigee.
