Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Control Coordinator I to join our team at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and directing a hospital-wide infection control program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveys, analyzes, reports, and records activities related to infection control
- Develops and implements standards for practices associated with the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections
- Ensures compliance with mandates of required accrediting and regulatory agencies
- Communicates pertinent information to senior management and medical staff members
Requirements:
- Certification by the National Certification of Infection Control or an equivalent national certification
- Masters degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in an infectious disease prevention and control environment
- Or Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time registered nursing experience requiring hands-on knowledge of infectious disease prevention and control procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a health-related field
- RN license and two or more years of clinical bedside nursing experience and/or OR or perioperative nursing experience
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, EHR, and data management
