Salary and Benefits$18.00/hour, with opportunities for part-time nights and weekends. Job DescriptionThe Dining Services Utility is responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. Key duties include operating and maintaining an automated dishwasher, general cleaning and maintenance of kitchen areas, washing, air-drying, and restocking dishes, glasses, and silverware, and adhering to proper infection control techniques.

Essential Functions:
  • General cleaning of kitchen and dining room.
  • Washing, air-drying, and restocking plates, glasses, and silverware.
  • Operating, assembling, disassembling, cleaning, and de-liming the dishwasher.
  • FOLLOWING safe and proper techniques for chemical use.
  • Following proper infection control techniques, including cleaning, storage, and food handling.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of emergency and safety procedures.
  • Taking trash to the dumpster.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment on a daily basis.
  • Reporting equipment safety issues to the Dining Services Director.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment at all times.
  • Providing assistance with storage of items received from vendors.
  • Responsible for sanitizing and cleaning of all kitchen utensils and dishes.
  • Scraping soiled dishes and placing them in the dishwasher.
  • Supervising the travel of dishes through the dish machine.
  • Assessing problems and breakdowns of the dish machine.
