Functional Family Therapy Specialist for Youth Affected by Gang Violence

Position Title: Functional Family Therapy Therapist

Organization: The Salvation Army Eastern Territory

Overview: The Salvation Army Eastern Territory is dedicated to supporting youth aged 11 to 18 who are vulnerable to the influences of gang violence. Through a grant from the Department of Justice, we are implementing Functional Family Therapy to address the needs of these young individuals and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in training and supervision for Functional Family Therapy
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication with assigned clients
  • Collaborate with families to create tailored service plans
  • Provide case management, crisis intervention, and referrals to necessary services
  • Document progress and outcomes effectively
  • Exhibit cultural sensitivity in all interactions
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience working with children and families in similar contexts
  • Proficiency in computer applications and cultural awareness
  • Valid NYS Driver License and access to personal transportation
