About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Crime Prevention Officer to join our team at the City of Fair Oaks Ranch. As a key member of our Public Safety department, you will play a vital role in maintaining law and order within our community.

Job Overview:

The Crime Prevention Officer will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls, and enforcing laws and ordinances. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about public service and have a strong commitment to keeping our community safe.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Patrol designated areas by vehicle or on foot to prevent crimes and enforce laws and regulations
  • Respond to emergency calls, complaints, and disturbances, taking necessary action as required
  • Investigate traffic accidents, crimes against persons and property, and take statements from witnesses and suspects
  • Serve warrants, make arrests, and transport prisoners
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, including crimes, complaints, accidents, and investigations
  • Participate in court proceedings as required and provide expert testimony
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and share information as necessary
  • Perform security checks of businesses and residential areas, identifying potential crime hotspots
  • Conduct routine maintenance of department vehicles and equipment
  • Foster positive relationships with the community through regular outreach and engagement
  • Assist with special events, such as bank deposits and escort services
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Holds a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Peace Officers License
  • Ability to pass physical agility standards and qualify with firearms
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
