Associate General Counsel Litigation Legal Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Policy to join our team at Rippling. As a key advisor to the business, you will provide counsel on global investigations, incident management, regulatory engagement, and litigation matters. Your expertise will help us navigate complex disputes and regulatory issues, ensuring the company's strategic priorities are advanced and protected.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted advisor to the business on litigation and strategic risks, providing counsel on global investigations, incident management, regulatory engagement, and litigation matters.
- Manage global litigation, pre-litigation disputes, and regulatory matters, proactively managing matters and advising leadership through all phases from pre-dispute to trial and appeal.
- Drive strategic initiatives with regulators, policymakers, and relevant industry groups to advance the company's interests.
- Develop and operationalize internal systems for managing litigation risk and active disputes, ensuring efficient and scalable processes.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for our product, sales, account management, and legal teams when disputes arise, providing expert guidance and support.
- 8+ years of litigation experience, with some experience in a government role and/or policy role a plus.
- Top-notch written advocacy skills, both formal and informal, with the ability to break down complex requirements into easy-to-understand and practical advice.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with quick and nimble thinking, able to navigate complex disputes and regulatory issues.
- Experience leading litigation activities across the full lifecycle and across various forums and regions, with a strong understanding of regulations applicable to regulated industries.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with a flexible, self-starting, and hard-working approach to work.
- Sense of humor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- JD or otherwise authorized to practice law, with fluency in English and fluency in other languages a plus.

This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity, with the salary for US-based employees aligned with one of the ranges below based on location.
A variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensation, including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.
The pay range for this role is: 192,000 USD per year (US San Francisco Bay Area).
