About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music/Art Program Specialist to join our Recreation Therapy team at Meridell Achievement Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing music and art activities for pediatric psychiatric patients.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement music and art therapy programs for patients with emotional, behavioral, and neurobehavioral problems.
  • Collaborate with the Recreation Therapy team to plan and deliver programs that meet the needs of patients.
  • Provide individual and group music and art therapy sessions to patients.
  • Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans to meet those needs.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Certified Recreational Therapist or Master's level Licensed Social Worker or Counselor.
  • Availability to work Saturdays, 9am-6pm, with some weekday hours periodically.
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents with mental health needs is preferred.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving over 50 pounds, walking and standing for long periods, and running for short periods.
