We are currently seeking a Senior Organic and Polymer Research Scientist to join our esteemed Applied Research Team within Global R&D. This role will report to a Group Leader and is pivotal in driving our research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement synthetic methodologies for innovative product development projects.
- Act as a technical liaison between application and marketing teams to facilitate product advancement and address complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to scale new products for global manufacturing.
- Lead and mentor laboratory technicians in the safe and effective execution of synthetic and process experiments.
- Independently analyze and interpret data from analytical and application studies.
- Prepare technical documentation and present findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records in compliance with company standards.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and laboratory procedures.
- PhD in Organic Chemistry or Polymer Science.
- Extensive experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
- Strong understanding of structure-property relationships across various applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adept at working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with global teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in R&D related to organic and/or polymer synthesis.
- Familiarity with the synthesis of water-soluble derivatives of natural polysaccharides.
- Experience in heterogeneous reaction chemistry and processes in multi-phase systems.
- Knowledge of polymer synthesis techniques, including non-solvent based methods.
- Understanding of polymer physical chemistry principles.
- Experience designing polysaccharide derivatives for applications in Personal Care, Pharmaceuticals, or Coatings.
