Ophthalmic Technology Educator

Job Summary
This position involves teaching quality instruction using integrative technologies. The successful candidate will deliver courses via various modalities, including on-ground, online, hybrid, and web-enhanced formats.
Duties
- Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required.
- Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least two weeks prior to the first day of class.
- Regularly check VSCC email and departmental mailbox, responding to messages within 48 hours.
- Submit final grades for each semester by the established deadline.
- Complete required College trainings and reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions, and surveys.
- Advise the Department Chair if unable to teach a class, and attend meetings as requested.
- Comply with College and TBR policies and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Ophthalmic Technology from a regionally accredited institution.
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COT or COMT) by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.
- Minimum two years' work experience as an ophthalmic technician.
Estimated Salary Range: $67,500 - $80,000 per year based on a full course load.
