Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in biology-related subjects, maintaining a high level of competence in the teaching content area, and ensuring an effective learning experience for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and instruct undergraduate courses in accordance with approved course outlines.
  • Maintain a prominent level of competence and expertise in the teaching content area and ensure an effective learning experience.
  • Utilize the university's learning management systems, as necessary.
  • Perform additional instructor responsibilities, including communication with students, responding to inquiries in a timely manner, being available for virtual office hours, and attending all classes as scheduled.
  • Submit course syllabi to the Department Chairperson prior to the start of the term.
  • Provide effective assessments and evaluation of student learning experiences.
  • Keep students informed of their progress with timely feedback and posting of grades in the university's learning management system.
  • Encourage and cultivate a positive and diverse learning environment for all students.
  • Retain and submit documentation as requested to the Department Chairperson.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
