We are seeking experienced Consulting Project Engineers who are proficient in Spanish and qualified to work in the United States. This role requires a hybrid work schedule, with in-office presence on select days and remote work on others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; degrees in Structural or Chemical Engineering will also be considered.
- A Master of Science Degree in Engineering is advantageous. A Professional Engineering License is highly desirable. Candidates should have over 15 years of experience leading engineering efforts on large, complex projects within the oil and gas sector. Familiarity with standard fabrication and construction codes, including ANSI, ASME (B31.3, B31.8, Sect. VIII, D2), ASTM, API, NEC, IEC, and NFPA is preferred. Knowledge of international codes is a plus.
- Ability to work in the United States and travel internationally is required. A current US passport is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to identify and mitigate technical, budgetary, and scheduling risks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English are essential. A sense of urgency and effective organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Proficiency in MS O365 tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) is required. A background in 6-Sigma and experience in fabrication environments are advantageous. Solid knowledge of mechanical equipment such as turbines, compressors, generators, and process coolers is beneficial.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Oversee the technical scope, engineering schedules, and budgets while supporting fabrication and construction efforts.
- Develop the Engineering Deliverable Report (EDR) and ensure the Design team produces the Drawing Status Report (DSR). Create and maintain the Project Deliverables List (PDL) for project manager approval. Review and approve engineered products, including Basis of Design documents, calculations, drawings, and vendor documentation, ensuring technical soundness and accuracy.
- Identify Project Change Notices (PCNs), gather cost estimates from relevant teams, and submit for project manager approval. Conduct weekly engineering update meetings to discuss progress, commitments, and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Prepare monthly project reports detailing major achievements, budget status, estimated hours to completion, and progress metrics, and present these in monthly meetings.
- Travel as necessary to support project needs, lead the establishment of milestone schedules for key deliverables, and ensure timely review and return of vendor documentation.
- Address customer comments on approval documents promptly and fulfill additional customer interface requirements as needed. Compile Lessons Learned for project evaluations and address quality issues as directed.
- Act as a technical resource for project team members, assisting with technical inquiries, and support field operations during fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup of designed systems.
