POSITION SUMMARY:

The Emergency Patient Transfer Coordinator is responsible for managing the transfer of emergency patients to appropriate healthcare facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and efficient patient movement during critical situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and assess requests for patient transfers from community hospitals.
  • Evaluate the medical condition and needs of patients to determine suitable receiving facilities.
  • Coordinate transportation logistics, including arranging ambulance or helicopter services as necessary.
  • Maintain communication with referring and receiving hospitals to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Perform data entry and manage call logs to track transfer requests and outcomes.
  • Assist in emergency situations by deploying resources and coordinating care for victims.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have completed relevant training programs and possess experience in emergency or critical care settings. A valid license as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Paramedic is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position involves light physical effort, including occasional lifting and considerable ambulation.
