Azure Hyperscale Architect Job Description

Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Azure Hyperscale Architect to lead the transition of multiple databases from Azure Synapse Analytics to Azure Hyperscale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database configuration and management, with a proven track record of executing complex research assignments and executing database migrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Data and Integration Architects and other team members to complete the transition of multiple databases from Azure Synapse Analytics to Azure Hyperscale.
  • Transition data flows to/from ODS / CCDW / HEG using Data Factory and SSIS, testing and optimizing for Hyperscale.
  • Batch processes transitioned, tested, and optimized in Hyperscale.
  • Optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and storage management to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Automated ODS / CCDW / HEG database backup, recovery, and restoration of Dev and Test systems tested and optimized.
  • Ensure databases comply with security standards and regulations, implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Document resulting solutions and any outstanding recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Math, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience in database configuration and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex research assignments, including critical thinking, logical, and comprehensive problem analysis and resolution.
  • SSIS ETL development and tuning experience.
  • MS Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience transitioning Azure Synapse Analytics databases to Azure Hyperscale.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Retail/customer data knowledge.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
