Job Title: Chief Psychiatrist

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Psychiatrist to lead our Correctional Health Care team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients, as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. You will also provide clinical direction, general supervision, and training to site staff, and have other managerial responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by medical and clinical services staff.
  • Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course.
  • Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of treatment plans.
  • Provide in-service education to site staff as needed.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
  • Must be licensed to practice in the state of Virginia and certified by the Office of Behavioral Health to provide psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient unit.
  • Must have current DEA number.
