Meat Cutter Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Strack and Van Til. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for assisting customers and other staff, processing bulk meat for sale, and maintaining a clean and organized meat department.

• Meat Cutter Activities:
  • Inspect meat products for freshness and quality
  • Facing merchandise in the department to ensure an attractive display
  • Operating various meat processing equipment, including slicers, grinders, saws, and sausage stuffers
  • Using a variety of knives to prepare and package meat products
  • Working in a refrigerated environment with temperatures around 34°F
• Other Activities:
  • Climbing ladders or using a stair tower to reach stock
  • Preparing items for wrapping and packaging
  • Stacking off pallets and receiving shipments
  • Assisting customers with their meat purchases
  • Stocking and rotating product to ensure freshness and availability
  • Answering phone calls and responding to customer inquiries

Our meat department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment with normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes. You will work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures around 34°F, and occasional exposure to cooler and freezer temperatures for short periods.
