  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety standards in collaboration with relevant management.

  • Act as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the store, managing returns/exchanges, and overseeing petty cash transactions.
  • Educate staff on the significance of cultural experiences for visitors, emphasizing the concept of ICHIGO ICHIE.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering their development while creating exceptional moments for guests.
  • Identify necessary training and information to guarantee each guest enjoys a meaningful experience at the point of sale, and communicate these insights to the team.
  • Conduct employee evaluations as needed or on a semi-annual basis.
  • Monitor departmental performance against budgetary goals and implement corrective measures when necessary.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement training programs in partnership with store management and Human Resources.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a retail environment or equivalent experience at Mitsukoshi.
  • General understanding of employment regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of Japanese culture is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese is preferred but not mandatory.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Effective communication skills in English with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with team members and external contacts.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding written materials.
  • Able to manage complex and urgent situations effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
