What are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Inspection Technician to join our team. As a Field Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for performing visual inspections and collecting oil samples from energized transformers in the Colorado Springs, CO area and shipping them to our lab in Northeast Ohio. You will play a critical role in our mission to keep our customers connected by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of their transformers.

What you'll bring to SDMyers:

As a Field Inspection Technician, you will need to have a strong background in mechanical or electrical systems, with experience in transformer inspection and maintenance. You will also need to have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and be able to pass a physical and drug screen. Once trained, you will work independently, so you will need to have a high level of integrity and initiative to ensure the quality and accuracy of your work.

Important things to know:

  • This job will be done outdoors in a clean or dirty environment and may have exposure to wildlife and inclement weather.
  • Extensive driving time in a company vehicle; air travel may be required at times.
  • We put safety first – you will work in industrial environments and around live electrical equipment and substations, and you will be fully trained to perform all tasks safely. We also provide uniforms, all PPE, and all equipment needed to work safely, so you can get back home safely.
  • Weekly Travel - Leave Monday and be back Friday. Home every weekend.
