Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Wayne Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services, including oxygen therapy, medical gas therapy, bronchodilator therapy, airway maintenance therapy, and non-invasive ventilation (NIV).

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and possess excellent communication skills. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general respiratory therapeutic services, including oxygen therapy, medical gas therapy, bronchodilator therapy, airway maintenance therapy, and non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
  • Implement and evaluate diagnostic respiratory services and non-invasive monitoring, including pulse oximetry, arterial blood gas procurement, capnography, pulmonary function testing, apnea screening, bronchoscopy assistance, and EKG procurement
  • Perform critical care procedures, including airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, and patient transport
  • Assess patients and recommend patient care plans per established protocols
  • Document patient information and provide chart reviews, as well as educate patients and families regarding disease processes and treatment plans
  • Clean, assemble, and maintain equipment per infection control guidelines
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility for position after attainment of RRT NBRC status
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - State of Michigan license
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care certification
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or the American Red Cross certification
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, holidays, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
