Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Survey Party Chief to join our team at Navarro & Wright Consulting. As a key member of our land surveying team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of a survey crew and ensuring the successful completion of various land surveying projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a one or two-man survey crew to support a broad range of land surveying and related services for federal, state, and private clients.
  • Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day supervision of a survey crew, ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with highest professional standards and company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Survey Operations: Conduct topographic, control, boundary, ALTA, as-built surveys, as well as construction/heavy civil layout for Commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Municipal projects.
  • Instrumentation and Equipment: Accurately run survey measuring instruments, including GPS/GNSS equipment and robotic total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.
  • Office Duties: Participate in in-house project planning and schedule development, perform data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks, and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD.
  • Client Relations: Ensure client satisfaction in all client relations and interactions.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required; additional land survey related course work desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a land surveying environment, including PennDOT surveys, boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveys, highway, commercial, and infrastructure construction, bridges, and structural steel layout.
  • Certifications: SIT or CST Certification preferred.
  • Skills: Basic proficiency in written and verbal business communications skills, demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting contracts and specifications, ability to receive written or oral instructions, and ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure, professionalism in all situations.
