Position Summary

We are in search of a Heavy Equipment Truck Driver – CDL to collaborate with our Pavement Marking team in the Grand Junction area. The successful candidate will possess a valid CDL Class A License with Hazmat endorsement and be open to travel and overnight assignments. This role encompasses not only driving but also engaging in outdoor teamwork to effectively paint or stripe highways and roadways. Comprehensive training will be provided for all necessary duties.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting wage for this position is $30.00 per hour, contingent on experience. This role requires travel for up to two weeks at a time, with all hotel accommodations and daily per-diem covered. Training will occur in a designated location with provided housing and per-diem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain Heavy Equipment (Epoxy or Grinder truck) for epoxy services as required
  • Utilize and maintain both hand-operated and motorized equipment for removing pavement markings
  • May operate additional equipment, including a Striper Truck, at reduced speeds during painting applications
  • Lift, carry, load, and unload construction materials, including pavement marking supplies and traffic control devices
  • Prepare and maintain the work area and all tools and machinery
  • Ensure equipment functionality and perform necessary mechanical repairs
  • Clean and maintain grinders and paint machines
  • Travel between various work sites, which involves significant overnight travel
Qualifications
  • Valid CDL A driver's license with a clean driving record
  • A minimum of 2 years of driving experience and familiarity with federal motor carrier safety regulations
  • HAZMAT certification is mandatory for an Epoxy Truck Driver; preferred but not required for a Grinder Truck Driver
  • Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as necessary, and travel out of town for extended periods
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with vehicles and diesel mechanics
  • Physical capability to lift 75 pounds and endure prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and bending
  • Comfortable working primarily outdoors and adapting to various weather conditions
