Educational and Professional Background
A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. An FAA A&P license or the ability to secure a repairman certificate within 30 days of employment is necessary. A minimum of 10 years of substantial experience in production, manufacturing, or service center environments is expected. Role Objective: Serve as a technical authority on in-service aircraft and execute repairs on installations that demand a high level of precision and promptness. Operate autonomously within a collaborative work setting and assume a leadership position when necessary.Job Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Execute technical tasks such as appropriate methods for in-service installations, repairs/modifications, and refurbishments. Diagnose issues on in-service aircraft to identify root causes and pursue preventive measures in collaboration with relevant parties to enhance efficiency and product quality. Aid in problem resolution to establish or rectify planning methods for in-service aircraft refurbishments and installations effectively by employing standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Collaborate with Engineering, Product Support Engineering, and Quality Control to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions. Organize, develop (with support from the Training Department), and manage the Employee Skills Development Program. Identify and create training requirements for tooling, testing equipment, and other areas. Plan, schedule, and complete tasks to meet service and delivery timelines. Support management as needed with the supervision and guidance of technicians in proper procedures and techniques for troubleshooting airframes, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance. Assist with the performance evaluation of subordinates. Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of team members. Leverage strengths for optimal job performance and provide guidance and growth opportunities to address developmental areas. Offer diverse learning experiences. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, vendor information, and all other procedures, publications, and general knowledge related to product support installations, repairs, and refurbishments. Assist in maintaining work schedules and updating CMP cards. Review work, including forms and records, to ensure adherence to Gulfstream Repair Station procedures and FAA Airworthiness Standards. Review daily job charging to ensure accuracy of charges to aircraft. Support Lean initiatives. Additional Functions: Perform tasks assigned to department technicians or leads during their absence, as required. Adhere to standard operating procedures. Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including CMP cards, Travelers, and R&I logs. Follow all safety, 6S, and housekeeping policies and utilize personal protective equipment. Ensure aircraft interiors are protected. Assist in the development and implementation of related initiatives. Conduct repairs on installations that necessitate a high degree of precision and promptness. Assist in training subordinates in appropriate techniques, processes, and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and/or repair station procedures and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality standards. Proven track record in troubleshooting manufacturing or installation processes. Proficient understanding of all applicable machinery and processes necessary to perform the job. Basic computer knowledge and skills are required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.Additional Information
