Position Summary
The role involves constructing and assembling custom-engineered machinery, focusing on the fabrication of heavy-duty equipment. This position requires expertise in various industrial welding techniques. Please note that the following description serves as a guideline and may not encompass all job functions.
Key Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure precise fabrication for welding tasks.
- Heating, shaping, and finishing metal components using hand tools, torches, or arc welding equipment.
- Igniting torches and adjusting valves, amperage, or voltage to achieve the desired flame or arc.
- Analyzing engineering specifications to effectively plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Utilizing appropriate jigs, fixtures, hand tools, machinery, and testing equipment to conduct duties.
- Determining necessary equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
Required Skills
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- The ability to follow detailed written and/or verbal instructions independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to read schematics and assembly drawings.
- Proficiency in using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, machinery, and testing equipment in a fast-paced environment.
- Accurate measurement skills, including the ability to read a tape measure and compare measurements to specifications.
- The capacity to lift up to 40 pounds independently and utilize carts and hoists for product movement.
