Job Title: Residential Youth Counselor

MOUNT PROSPECT ACADEMY INC DBA BECKET ACADEMY / FAMILY OF SERVICES is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Counselor to join our team.

About the Role:

As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to provide supervision and mentorship to our students, including role modeling appropriate behavior, redirection, and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to residents, helping them develop essential life skills and coping mechanisms.
  • Implement social and recreational activities that promote positive relationships and a sense of community among residents.
  • Deliver direct services to residents, including daily living skills, meal preparation, hygiene practices, and recreational activities.
  • Develop and maintain respectful and positive relationships with residents, fostering a sense of trust and security.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and attend work with punctuality and effective time management.
  • Plan and execute life-relevant and meaningful programming that promotes resident growth and development.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners. You will also need to be flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
