Summary:
Conducts sonographic examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice, aligning with the organization's values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates patient medical history and physician directives, managing scheduling effectively.
2. Informs patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to ensure comprehension and cooperation.
3. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications as per the scope of practice when required.
4. Continuously monitors patient conditions, reporting and responding to any changes in status as necessary.
5. Prepares and calibrates equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate imaging parameters.
6. Adheres to safety protocols and performs quality control measures on equipment.
7. Troubleshoots and addresses equipment malfunctions promptly.
8. Positions patients accurately and executes imaging procedures.
9. Analyzes imaging results, identifying and rectifying quality issues as needed.
10. Documents, transmits, and communicates scan results effectively.

May engage with Radiology students.
Requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently. Must thrive in a dynamic environment and respond appropriately to challenges.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Education:
Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.

Required Licensure/Certification:

Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure as required by law. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.



Minimum Experience:
No prior experience required.

BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer must be valid prior to the start date.

BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
