About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional diagnostic testing services. This role will involve working in a fast-paced environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Medical/Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager, provide high-quality laboratory specimen testing.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of the laboratory.
- Guarantee patient safety by maintaining accurate laboratory practices.
- Perform laboratory testing on patients from neonates to geriatric patients.
- Manage daily operations of assigned department/s.
- Maintain objectivity in decision-making and utilize facts to support decisions.
- Achieve ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Act as a resource to employees and customers, demonstrating flexibility in response to change.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science.
- Certified (registered) with an approved certifying agency, such as ASCP, AAB, or AMT.
- Louisiana State license as a CLS Generalist or CLS Technician.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
