Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Dietary Aide is to assist in the preparation and serving of meals while ensuring that the kitchen and dining areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner, as directed by the Food Service Director or Cook. Additional duties may be assigned by community representatives. Adherence to health, sanitation, and infection control policies is essential, along with compliance with the community's established Dietary Policies and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and dining areas.
- Follow all health and safety protocols.
- Support the Food Service Director and Cook in daily operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to collaborate with supervisors and team members.
- Understanding of proper safety and sanitation techniques.
- Flexibility to work scheduled hours as required.
- Must not pose a health or safety risk to others.
Experience:
- Prior experience in long-term care settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
