Job Overview


The primary objective of this role is to offer a developmental pathway for bankers entering the fields of Commercial, Agricultural, and Construction Lending. This position may also cater to seasoned lenders overseeing a smaller or less intricate loan portfolio.

This role entails managing existing credit relationships with current loan clients of the Bank and actively pursuing new borrowing connections.


It is essential to identify and align both new and existing loan clients with additional Enterprise products and services. Responsibilities include performing all related tasks in accordance with the Loan Policy, procedures, and compliance mandates of the Bank.



Key Responsibilities


Manage a funded loan portfolio ranging from $5,000,000 to $20,000,000, consisting of less complex credits and Commercial, Agricultural, or Construction loans.

Handle all facets of outstanding Business, Construction, and Agricultural credits for current loan clients.

Specific Duties Include:
Monitoring customer financial stability and performance through research, analysis, and inspection.

Gathering, preparing, and analyzing necessary financial and credit documentation as stipulated by Bank Policy and procedures. Ensure timely receipt of financial statements, tax returns, and completion of tickler items.

Responsible for the proper formulation and execution of required loan and collateral documentation based on loan type and structure. Oversee the closing and documentation of funding instructions for new and renewed loan transactions.

Review and make decisions on overdraft payments for existing clients. Accountable for loan payment performance and collection activities for outstanding credit of current clients.

Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to maintain existing client relationships; actively seek and develop new lending connections. Align borrowers with other Business and Consumer Banking products and services.

Proactively seek and refer other Trust, Brokerage, and Insurance products and services to both new and existing loan clients.


Collaborate with support resources, including the Credit Analyst Team, Business Banking Assistant, and Credit Lending Officer, to structure, analyze, and document loan packages and credit recommendations.


Actively gather and apply information related to the current economic landscape, including farming, ranching, commodity prices, and the business community; integrate this knowledge into the underwriting process.


Additional Responsibilities


Provide leadership and expertise; actively support the work and employee development initiatives of the Bank.

Collaborate with departmental counterparts on planning and executing assigned projects and products.

Participate in various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.

Engage in organization-specific training and Quality Service programs.

Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.

Community involvement is highly encouraged.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Applicable experience and/or related certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience:
Bank trainee or intern experience.

2 years' experience in a related field.

Work experience or family background in Agriculture, Ranching, or Small Business.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Strong credit/financial analytical skills.


Ability to work both dependently and independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

Ability to organize and manage multiple responsibilities while delivering quality service to both external and internal customers.

Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with both external and internal clients.

Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to the performance of specified duties in the job description.

Familiarity with banking terminology and procedures.

Proficiency in using various application software, learning computer programs, and understanding program outputs.

Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
