Overview

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality care to patients receiving diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Communicate patient needs and responses through effective verbal and written correspondence.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient care.
  • Operate imaging and specialty equipment, staying up-to-date on medical device uses.
  • Minimize patient and staff exposure to radiation.
  • Assume responsibility for direct patient care during procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide quality care during exams.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation.
  • Assist with patient and family education.
  • Keep patients and families informed of progress.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or NMTCB.
  • Minimum of two years' experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work. Lifting up to 75 pounds is required, and carrying objects up to 35 pounds may be necessary.

Environmental Factors

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you'll be exposed to various environmental factors, including blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, and radiation. Personal protective equipment, including respirators, may be required.
