Community Liaison Assistant

Join Lodi Unified School District as a Community Liaison Assistant and play a vital role in fostering strong relationships between schools and families. As a key member of our team, you will serve as a liaison between the school and parents, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform liaison duties between school and parents at an assigned school site.
- Communicate with parents regarding student attendance, behavior, academic achievement, health and medical problems.
- Refer to local agencies or school services as appropriate.
- Screen families for qualifications for program enrollment and enroll families.
- Maintain communication with parents by telephone, home visits, and mail regarding student deficiencies in attendance, behavior, academic achievement, health and medical issues, and related matters.
- Provide information regarding school and community programs.
- Translate from English to a second language as necessary and translate written materials.
- Assist non-English speaking students with various activities.
- Provide transportation for parents and students when needed.
- Maintain a variety of files and records related to assigned activities.
- Order supplies and testing materials as assigned.
- Promote parent involvement in school activities and coordinate parent educational programs.
- Attend school and community meetings, including IEP, SST, speech, and conferences with parents and teachers as assigned.
- May assist office staff with various clerical duties as assigned.
- Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent and responsible experience in working in an instructional or social service program.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Office environment.
- Driving a vehicle to make home visits.
- Constant interruptions.
- Adverse weather conditions.
