Hotel Houseperson

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our team at Residence Inn / Courtyard by Marriott in Central Islip, NY. As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our public areas, guest rooms, and administrative spaces.

• Make rounds through the halls to ensure public areas are clean and tidy, removing or replacing anything out of order
• Coordinate with housekeeping to assist with heavy lifting and priority requests
• Report missing or found articles and any signs of damage or needed repair
• Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash, flip mattresses, and move furniture
• Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and obtaining additional help when needed
• Clean and maintain all public areas, guest rooms, storage areas, and administrative spaces
• Run supplies and service items to guest rooms as requested
• Drive a van to transport guests
• Polish metalwork and furniture

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license with a clean record (required for drivers only)
• Ability to communicate in English
• Six months of experience in housekeeping
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods
• Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from a supervisor
