Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver instruction in the College of Osteopathic Medicine through lectures, small group discussions, or laboratory sessions as assigned.
  2. Engage in or lead research initiatives and scholarly activities within the department and across the university.
  3. Provide consultative services to outpatient clinics affiliated with the college.
  4. Participate in small group activities, laboratories, and other instructional formats as needed.
  5. Maintain a consistent schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, and consultation.
  6. Contribute to departmental and college-wide committee meetings.
  7. Participate in curriculum development for existing and new courses.
  8. Maintain a personal professional development plan, which may include research or creative activities to ensure growth in the field.
  9. Exhibit professional behavior and ethics in all aspects of job performance.
  10. Engage in community outreach events such as health fairs and professional meetings to promote the program.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Engage in community service activities recognized as professional development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Proficient in learning management systems and course development as a subject matter expert.
  2. Adaptable and willing to teach various courses and perform special duties as assigned.
  3. Strong leadership, management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  4. In-depth knowledge of human nutrition, physiology, and related fields.
  5. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  7. Willingness to teach courses, provide patient care, and undertake special assignments as needed.
  8. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and support staff at all levels.

Job Requirements:
Certifications/Licensures:
  1. Active Florida licensure for nutrition and dietetics or eligibility to obtain within six months of employment.
  2. Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or equivalent professional credential.

Education:
Terminal Degree (Ph.D., D.C.N., D.HSc., Ed.D.) in Human Nutrition or a closely related field.

Experience:
Three to five years of relevant experience and/or training, including research, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of ACEND accreditation standards.
  2. Robust Curriculum Vitae demonstrating active contributions to the nutrition profession.
