Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tack Truck Driver to join our team at Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a Class B CDL with tank endorsement and a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate tack truck equipment in a safe and efficient manner, applying commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering the vehicle in difficult situations.
  • Apply tack to road surfaces using the patching hose and spray bars, ensuring proper application and quality control.
  • Inspect the truck, equipment, and supplies before and after trips, submitting a report on the truck's condition and any needed repairs.
  • Load and unload tack truck at asphalt plants, handling hot materials with care.
  • Monitor and maintain the temperature of the material to ensure its quality.
  • Collaborate with the asphalt crew to assist with additional duties when the tack truck is not in use.
  • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of the tack truck to ensure its optimal performance.
  • Stay updated on all USDOT and FMCSA safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety checks of fluid levels, inspect for leaks and damage, and notify the supervisor promptly if the vehicle requires repair.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is desired, but not required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a tack truck driver.
  • Class B CDL with tank endorsement and Hazmat endorsement (helpful but not required).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently, stand/walk for extended periods, and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
  • Ability to quickly move arms and legs.
  • Willingness to work day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
