Job Description

The successful Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing control systems, ensuring they meet customer specifications and requirements. This will involve developing operation manuals, examining customer-supplied specifications, and ensuring equipment operates in accordance with these specifications. Additionally, you will program robotic and/or controls equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and provide technical support and training to end-users.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design control software packages utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and/or Human/Machine Interfaces (HMI)
  • Examine and understand customer-supplied specifications to ensure equipment functionality meets these specifications
  • Ensure equipment being started up and commissioned operates in accordance with customer requirements
  • Program robotic and/or controls equipment per customer specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance as requested by the customer to ensure minimum downtime and optimum operation of machines and equipment

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate understanding of electrical circuits, electrical panel design, pneumatic design, hydraulic design, PLC's, HMI's, robot programming, VFD's, servo applications, and device communication networks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and Google Applications
