We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Bath, New York.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health and be able to provide high-quality care to our patients. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing psychiatric services, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Providing outpatient services, including walk-ins and integrated responsibilities such as coverage of medical/surgical consultation, inpatient services, compensation and pension services, emergency room care, and geriatric services.
  • Supervising and teaching psychiatric residents and other trainees as needed.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and outcome data initiatives.
  • Providing patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention, and wellness based on the patients goals.
  • Provision of Telepsychiatry services as needed.
  • On-call duties as assigned, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
Requirements
  • A degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • At least 2 years of experience in psychiatry.
  • A current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Board Certified/Board Eligible.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
