Job Title: Material Handler

At Givaudan, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and production facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Stage raw materials and finished goods in and out of production as required.
  • Operate forklifts and other powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize desktop, vehicle-mounted, and hand-held computers for receiving instructions and real-time inventory updates.
  • Maintain accurate records by use of Radio Frequency Bar Code equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks, label and weigh containers, and draw samples of food-grade ingredients.
  • Evaluate raw materials in warehouses and production areas and submit questionable raw materials to Quality Control.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
  • Attend safety meetings and exercise constant care to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping/sanitation in the workplace.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in computerized warehouse and real-time data collection.
  • Valid forklift license required (can be obtained on the job).
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and bar-coding experience preferred.
  • Dependability, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to providing quality and timely service are essential.
Working Conditions:

Working conditions may include exposure to dust and/or fumes from raw materials and finished products.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and maneuver minimum or 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums with proper material handling equipment.

Equipment Used:

Must operate desktop, vehicle-mounted, and hand-held computers, in addition to forklift and stretch wrap machines.
