About the Role:
The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as an experienced caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long-term care. This role requires a high level of expertise as a certified nursing assistant and assists other staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Assists with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
- Assists with meal preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
