Job Summary: The City of Meriden is seeking a highly skilled and experienced City Clerk/Court Clerk to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documents, including ordinances, resolutions, deeds, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes for City Council meetings.
  • Oversee the utility customer service department and ensure timely payment of accounts payable and payroll.
  • Manage fiscal budgets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Collect and process municipal records and documents, including licenses and permits.
  • Attend court sessions and file documents as required.
  • Develop and implement effective records management systems and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Excellent accounting and finance skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and other financial software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
