Role Summary:
The Certified Athletic Trainer is tasked with delivering comprehensive sports medicine services aimed at the prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This role encompasses both outreach initiatives and clinical responsibilities within the sports medicine program, including the provision of athletic healthcare services to designated institutions, assessment, diagnosis, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and intervention of injuries and illnesses, as well as the tracking and reporting of athletic injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide casting, splinting, bracing, crutch fitting, and other durable medical equipment (DME) services while educating patients on their use. Perform tasks such as staple or suture removal, injection preparation, vital sign monitoring, and maintaining cleanliness in treatment areas.
* Instruct patients on home exercise regimens and therapeutic activities, ensuring effective communication with both patients and healthcare team members.
* Prepare patient rooms and gather essential information to update medical histories and charts. Review schedules and documentation to confirm all necessary test results or patient information are available for appointments.
* Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations, ensuring proper documentation. Order relevant x-rays, laboratory tests, or other medical evaluations as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
* Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners (or eligible for licensure)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
