About the Role

As a Medical Imaging Specialist in our Cath Lab, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. Working in an invasive procedure arena, you will specialize in the care of patients undergoing basic diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with no assistance.
  • Performs scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to scrub, gown, glove, and set up back table with necessary equipment.
  • Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy. Monitors procedure and documents inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab event log.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education required.
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within three months of hire and thereafter maintained.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. MUSC offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and more.
