Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Western Territory - Cascade Division. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of our building systems, including mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, plumbing, HVAC, fitness equipment, aquatics equipment, and audio/visual equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency repairs to designated facility plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct periodic preventive maintenance on designated facility systems, including belt inspections and replacement, light bulb replacement, filter replacements, coil cleaning, and painting of buildings.
  • Repair doors, windows, sinks, toilets, and other fixtures or arrange for contractors as needed.
  • Maintain designated properties in compliance with applicable local, state, and company rules, codes, and regulations.
  • Perform basic routine and emergency repairs to designated facility plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in general building maintenance systems in a multi-use facility.
  • Experience with aquatics and fitness equipment strongly preferred.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date).
  • Fork Lift Certification (within 6 months of hire date).
Working Conditions

This position may have frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated. Work with minimum supervision and work involves a high degree of independence. May be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and/or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, sometimes for long periods of time; to talk and hear; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. May walk or stand on varied surfaces. Stooping; kneeling, bending, stretching, squatting, twisting body, pushing, pulling, a sense of touch, reach, grasp with hands and fingers, standing, walking, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, driving a vehicle, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted. Climb up & down ladders.
